Best lineup strategy for Orlando City-Inter Miami Showdown

Orlando City could benefit significantly from getting both Nani and Dom Dwyer back in its starting group during Wednesday’s matchup with Inter Miami.

MLS is officially back, and there will be a matchup between Orlando City and Inter Miami Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. ET to kick off the 25-team MLS Is Back tournament. DraftKings has DFS available for the game, and we go over the best Showdown strategies for the here. Set your lineups here.

Captain’s Picks

Nani ($15,000) is bound to be a popular pick. The 33-year-old midfielder led Orlando in goals (12) and assists (10) in his first season with the team last year. He’s the favorite to score the first goal of the match on DraftKings Sportsbook at +510, but his ability to create chances for others set him apart from other potential candidates.

Like Nani, Dom Dwyer ($9,000) is another designated player to keep an eye on. He ranked third in goals (7) and assists (4) for Orlando‘s team. This duo proved to be effective together last year, and Tesho Akindele hasn’t done much of anything in the 174 minutes he’s logged on the pitch in 2020. Dwyer’s status is listed as questionable though, so that’s something to monitor ahead of game time.

Flex

Finding a player with high-volume crossing is important, and that’s what Lewis Morgan ($8,800) provides. He’s sent in 21 crosses in the two games he’s played this year and has one assist to show for it. Morgan has also tallied five shots. Two of those were on target, but he hasn’t made the net bulge.

Rodolfo Pizarro ($10,800) has had a productive start to 2020. He’s the most expensive player in the contest and has scored one goal this season. Although there isn’t a large sample size to pull from in Inter Miami’s inaugural season, he’s drawn 10 fouls and crosses the ball as well.
