Best lineup strategy for Steelers-Cowboys Madden simulation Showdown

The Steelers and Cowboys square off in a Thursday Madden simulation at DraftKings. We break down Showdown strategy to consider.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys will face off in a Madden simulation Thursday at 3 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Pick

Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers ($15,900)

Both Roethlisberger and Dak Prescott have good upside but Roethlisberger has been putting up better numbers than him of late with five striaght games over 20 DK points. Roethlisberger doesn’t lose any points to the running game, as James Conner does very little in these simulations. He also has four receivers contributing with a double-digit average for DK points while Prescott has just one.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, Steelers ($14,100)

If we’re stacking the Steelers passing game, we can’t leave Smith-Schuster out. He’s topped 15 DK points in his last six games but also had highs of 35.3, 26 and 37.3 DK points in that stretch. Those numbers are worthy of the Captain’s spot as well, so it comes down to Roethlisberger or Smith-Schuster in this matchup.

Flex options

James Washington, Steelers ($5,600)

Any of the Steelers receivers are useful in this Showdown, but Washington has been playing well and is cheap. He has topped 13 DK points in his last four games while not dipping under five receptions in any of those games.

Ezekiel Elliott, Patriots ($10,000)

Elliott has 30-plus DK points upside while Dak Prescott doesn’t run as much at home. Elliott has 13 rushing touchdowns at home while Prescott has one rushing touchdown at home versus five on the road. I like Elliott’s chances a little better than Prescott’s in this matchup.
