The Stanley Cup Playoffs have arrived! The puck drops for the first round of the playoffs on August 12th, and while it might be four months later than expected, it’s better than nothing!

The NHL wrapped up the qualifying round over the weekend and we have the bracket set for the playoffs. The Dallas Stars claimed the third seed in the Western Conference in round robin play, while the Calgary Flames beat the Winnipeg Jets in the qualifying round to claim the No. 6 seed.

The Stars finished third in the Central division and while they had the fifth best point total, they got the edge over Edmonton with fewer games played. The Stars lost to Vegas and Colorado in round robin play before closing out with a shootout win over St. Louis. The Stars goaltending situation is not clear, with Ben Bishop “unfit to play” in the round robin finale and Anton Khudobin getting two straight starts. This will be something to watch in the first round.

The Flames were the 8th seed in the Western Conference qualifying round. They were two games over .500 when play was suspended in March and facing the 9th seeded Jets. Cam Talbot impressed in the series, giving up 1.51 goals per game with a .945 save percentage.

Below is a full rundown of the Stars-Flames series and how to watch it. The NBC games are all available at NBCSports.com/live. The Stars win the series 4-2.
