The Stanley Cup Playoffs have arrived! The puck drops for the first round of the playoffs on August 12th, and while it might be four months later than expected, it’s better than nothing!

The NHL wrapped up the qualifying round over the weekend and we have the bracket set for the playoffs. The St. Louis Blues finished fourth in the Western Conference round robin play, while the Vancouver Canucks beat the Minnesota Wild to claim the No. 5 seed.

The Blues won the Central Division in the shortened regular season and had the best record in the Western Conference entering round robin play. However, they lost all three of their round robin games to get the No. 4 seed. Jordan Binnington struggled in his two games in goal, giving up 4.10 goals per game. Jake Allen replaced him in the third round robin game and gave up two goals in the final loss.

The Canucks were the 7th seed in the Western Conference qualifying round. They were three games over .500 when play was suspended in March and faced the 10th seeded Wild. Jacob Markstrom was solid in goal for the Canucks, giving up 2.27 goals per game on a .926 save percentage.
