Giannis will play Monday vs. Wizards [UPDATE]

A toothache held Giannis Antetokounmpo out of Monday’s game vs. the Raptors. He is expected to return to the lineup.

UPDATE: Aug. 11, 7:35 p.m. — Giannis will play Tuesday night vs. the Wizards.

Well, this is a new one. A toothache will apparently be enough to hold Giannis Antetokounmpo out of the Milwaukee Bucks matchup with the Toronto Raptors on Monday night. The Greek Freak has been dealing with a bad tooth inside the bubble, so clearly he needs to cut down on the sweets. Giannis went to get oral surgery.

So as somebody who has had extensive dental work done, we can only assume that Giannis had to get a root canal or some drilling. That can be tricky depending on how bad the tooth was and how quickly it heals. Usually it can take some time. I highly doubt it will cause the Greek Freak to miss any basketball games, but it’s something that can affect his play, for sure.

If you’re brave enough to play this DFS slate, I salute you. This likely isn’t the last news we’ll get before games start. Khris Middleton ($7,200) and Eric Bledsoe ($5,700) would normally benefit the most with Giannis off the court. We don’t know how many minutes either player will get against Toronto. So assuming we see a lot of the benches, Marvin Williams ($3,500) should fill in at PF. Pat Connaughton ($3,800), Donte DiVincenzo ($4,000) and Kyle Korver ($3,500) should play a decent amount as well. This game seems pretty toxic for fantasy though.
