Pelicans sitting three starters Tuesday because, well, why not?!

The NBA injury reports are getting nuts with teams resting players in meaningless games. Zion Williamson, Jrue Holiday and Brandon Ingram are all out Tuesday.

The New Orleans Pelicans are following suit with the entire league right now and resting players, forcing us within the DFS and betting community to collectively want to rip our hair out. Frustration aside, Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Jrue Holiday are all listed as out Tuesday vs. the Sacramento Kings. Good job on the Pelicans to rest young, exciting, fun-to-watch players in meaningless games after they failed to do anything in the NBA bubble. It’s not like anyone believed the Pelicans could actually make the playoffs if Zion played a normal workload.

So the “injuries” for Jrue, Zion and Ingram are as follows: elbow for Holiday, and two knees for Ingram and Williamson. Yeah, I’m sure Ingram and Zion’s knees are in really rough shape after all the bad defense the Pelicans played in the bubble games. Okay, I’m done ripping into the Pels.

One would think the Pelicans would want to get a good look at Jaxson Hayes and Nickeil Alexander-Walker against the Kings. It’s beyond me why Alexander-Walker isn’t getting any playing time in games that don’t matter. He looked really good in the scrimmages for the Pels before the season restart. Alexander-Walker also looked good in summer league after being drafted. Both he and Hayes are young cornerstones who could become players surrounding Williamson. Let the kids ball.
