Las Vegas Raiders roster updates from training camp

NFL training camp is underway and rosters will be pared down to the 53-player maximum. We’ll break down the moves as the Las Vegas Raiders sort out their roster decisions.

NFL training camp is under way and that means news will start flowing from each team. How that news will be distributed in the time of Covid-19 restrictions is still to be seen, but news will get out one way or the other. We’ll take that news and give you our fantasy and betting analysis. And that news and analysis, including roster moves, injuries, all the way to hype videos, will be disseminated right here, on this very page for the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders showed improvement from its first season under Jon Gruden in 2019 and benefitted from Derek Carr and Darren Waller having career years. Josh Jacobs was one of the best young running backs in the NFL last year, and he could become more of a threat in the future if he gets more involved in the passing game. Adding a dynamic wideout prospect like Henry Ruggs III could make Las Vegas’ offense a lot more explosive.

Player News

High fantasy/betting impact

* Jason Witten signs with the Raiders. — March 17

The addition of Jason Witten is interesting given the season Waller just had. While the veteran will likely be in more of a leadership position, he could impact the workload of Waller at some point. Waller will be one of the most sought after fantasy tight ends in the NFL, but it looks like he’ll have a more competition in 2020.

Low fantasy/betting impact

* Signed RB Theo Riddick and LB Kyle Emanuel — August 23

Riddick likely won’t have much impact with Jalen Richard in front of him, but it reminds us that the Raiders have a lot of pass-catching running backs. Josh Jacobs could again have trouble getting a big workload in the passing game.

* Signed DE Datone Jones — August 14

* Signed LB Bryce Hager — August 7
