UPDATE: Fight day odds and betting splits for Miller-Pichel
The last fight of the preliminary card at UFC 252 is a pair of lightweights at different points in their career as Jim Miller takes on Vinc Pichel on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Miller is one of the true veterans and most prolific fighters in UFC history. With a promotion record of 21-13-1 promotion record, and a MMA overall mark of 32-14-1, he’s got 18 submissions in his career. The 36-year-old plays gatekeeper here, averaging just 2.81 significant strikes per minute, but also taking down his opponent 1.68 times per 15 minutes. His last win was just 56 days before this fight, a first round armbar victory over Roosevelt Roberts.
“From Hell” Pichel is 12-2 in MMA, with a 5-2 mark in the UFC, though with only one stoppage. His only two losses are to mat-based fighters, so this fight will present a more specific challenge to him. Though he averages 4.0 takedowns per 15 minutes in the octagon, he only has four total in his last four outings. His last bout was also against Roberts, which he won via unanimous decision on June 29th, 2019. A hip injury which needed surgery, plus the coronavirus, has kept him from fighting until now.
