He has 18 submissions in his career, and the 36-year-old plays gatekeeper here. Averaging just 2.81 significant strikes per minute, he also down his opponent 1.68 times per 15 minutes. His last win was just 56 days before this fight, a first round armbar stoppage of Roosevelt Roberts.

Pichel’s last opponent was Roberts as well, a unanimous decision victory on June 29th, 2019. “From Hell” is 12-2 in MMA with a 5-2 mark in the UFC but with only one stoppage. Though he averages 4.0 takedowns per 15 minutes in the octagon, he only has four total in his last four outings. A hip injury which needed surgery, plus the coronavirus, has kept him from fighting until now.
