The battle for the heavyweight championship of the UFC will end a terrific trilogy between two of the best ever in Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier. But is there any DFS value in this fight?

DraftKings DFS Salaries

Stipe Miocic: $8,200
Daniel Cormier: $8,000

Miocic is the slight underdog at -104 on the money line, with Cormier at -115 as of this morning.

Miocic has a bit of an edge in historical DFS points scored in the octagon, with 92.3 against Cormier’s 87.4. But for a fight this close, the most important factor will be picking the winner. In the two previous fights between these two, Cormier scored 113 points his 2018 win, and 102 in his 2019 loss. Miocic only got 17 points in 2018 when he was knocked out in the first round, but added 117 in his victory a year later.

With his KO and scoring ability, Miocic is the higher-ceiling/lower-floor fighter here, and his history of a higher work rate (4.95 significant strikes per minute, 2.2 takedowns per bout) adds to his value. But in what should be an epic duel, there likely isn’t much edge for either fighter when both know each other so well.

Enjoy the main event as a fan, but this could be a spot to stayaway for roster creation.
