The 2020 NBA Playoffs get started on Monday, August 17th. While we should see most lineups at full strength, there will always be notable injuries to cover from game-to-game in each series. Here you’ll be able to find all the latest injury news and updates, plus DFS and betting analysis, for the Portland Trail Blazers as they take on the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the playoffs.
Portland Trail Blazers injury updates
Zach Collins — ankle (Out)
Update, Aug. 19 — Collins is expected to miss at least one more week, which means he could miss Games 2-4 for the Blazers. Gabriel should continue to start for Portland against the Lakers. The Blazers didn’t miss Collins much in a convincing Game 1 win over L.A. With Collins out for what could be the series, we should see plenty of Whiteside, Carmelo Anthony and Gabriel in the front court.
MRI confirms a "left ankle Malleolar stress reaction" for Zach Collins. He's out for Game 2 and will be reevaluate in a week, which means Games 3 and 4 are likely out as well.

Update, Aug. 18 — Gabriel has been confirmed as the starter in place of Collins for Tuesday night’s series opener vs. the Lakers. At $3,200 on DraftKings, Gabriel is a GPP punt play at best. We should see more small lineups with Carmelo Anthony at PF and Nurk at C, rather than big lineups with Whiteside and Nurk on the floor.
Update, Aug. 17 — Collins has been ruled out for Game 1 vs. the Lakers on Tuesday. So we could see the Blazers go with a smaller lineup. Wenyen Gabriel could also start, as he did in the second half of the play-in tournament game on Saturday. We should see plenty of Hassan Whiteside with Collins sidelined.

Update, Aug. 16 — So Collins left Saturday’s play-in tournament win over the Grizzlies in the second half due to ankle inflammation. Portland may have been taking it easy on Collins knowing they had enough to win Saturday and potentially another game to play Sunday. Collins’ status hasn’t been updated since then, so we’ll see if he’ll be ready for Game 1 on Tuesday.
