The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees will play Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. Yankees lefty James Paxton will host a yet to be names Red Sox pitcher at Yankee’s Stadium. DraftKings will have Showdown DFS contests available for the matchup. We break down the ideal lineup strategy below, and you can play here.
Aaron Judge, OF, Yankees: $14,100
The Red Sox have yet to announce a starting pitcher as of this writing, but the Yankees are mashing the ball right now while the Red Sox pitching has been one of the worst in the league. I feel confident in stacking Yankees hitters tonight. That of course includes Judge, who has hit a home run in each of his last four games.
James Paxton, P, Yankees: $11,000
Paxton should be able to bounce back from being shelled in his first start, but there is no doubt he was hit hard, as he gave up five hits and three earned runs in one inning. The lefty gives up over a home run per nine innings to righties, but also has better all around numbers versus righties than lefties. That kind of balance makes it tough to set a lineup against him and until J.D. Martinez gets on track, the Red Sox offense isn’t at its peak. In GPPs I’d think about giving him a chance in the Captain’s seat.
Christian Vazquez, C, Team: $8,400
Paxton is a wildcard until we see a good game from him, but Vazquez has been hitting lefties well so far. Whatever Paxton we see, could have trouble with the Red Sox’ catcher, as he has three home runs and three RBIs against lefties in just ten at bats this year.
Luke Voit, 1B, Yankees: $6,600
Voit has five hits in his last four games, including two home runs. We need some value and Voit has a good chance to stay hot against the Red Sox bullpen on Sunday. He’s risky, but his power gives plenty of reward for his price.
