Two women’s strawweights from opposite sides of the planet will link up on the preliminary card of UFC on ESPN this Saturday when Amanda Lemos takes on Mizuki Inoue live from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas.
Lemos is 7-1-1 as an MMA fighter, with a 1-1 record since joining the UFC. She made her debut in a KO loss to Leslie Smith in July of 2017, then served a two-year doping suspension for stanozol. She returned with a win over Miranda Granger via first round rear-naked choke in December of last year, and all seven of her career wins have come via finish: five by KO, two by submission.
Mizuki is 14-5 in MMA, and won her UFC debut over Yanan Wu via split decision last August. Turning 26 years old yesterday, the Nagoya, Japan native has won six of her last seven fights, mostly in the Invicta and Deep promotions. She’s looking to tap her opponents out, as all nine of her wins via stoppage are by submission. Her youth belies her experience, as she began her pro career at just 16 years old.
