Draft lottery results: The Knicks dropped in the lottery and will pick 8th in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The 2020 NBA Draft Lottery will take place at 8:30 p.m. ET and air on ESPN on Thursday night. The 14 teams who will be in the field are a mix of those left out of the NBA bubble in Orlando and those sent home early. The format for the draft lottery is much different this year. Teams at the top have a more even shot at landing the first overall pick. Let’s take a look at the New York Knicks odds to land the No. 1 pick. We’ll update this with results after the lottery, plus analysis on who the team should think of drafting.

New York Knicks NBA Draft Lottery Odds, Results

The Knicks have a 9% chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft after finishing 21-45 this season. The Knicks are +900 on DraftKings Sportsbook to win the No. 1 overall pick.

Who should the Knicks select with the No. 8 pick?

New York has failed to get a second straight top pick and dropped to eighth overall. That means the Knicks won’t get their point guard of the future in LaMelo Ball. They’ll have to settle for another guard later on in the lottery, and there’s no clear cut second option. Many have shipped New York native Cole Anthony with the Knicks. The UNC product injured his knee during his long season with the Tar Heels and saw his draft stock drop toward the end of his lone collegiate season. Anthony has athleticism and burst similar to Dennis Smith Jr.’s and could be a great fit if he develops into a reliable distributor.
