Draft lottery results: The Hornets will select with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
The 2020 NBA Draft Lottery will take place at 8:30 p.m. ET and air on ESPN on Thursday night. The 14 teams who will be in the field are a mix of those left out of the NBA bubble in Orlando and those sent home early. The format for the draft lottery is much different this year. Teams at the top have a more even shot at landing the first overall pick. Let’s take a look at the Charlotte Hornets odds to land the No. 1 pick. We’ll update this with results after the lottery, plus analysis on who the team should think of drafting.
Charlotte Hornets NBA Draft Lottery Odds, Results
The Hornets have a 6% chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft after finishing 23-42 this season.
Who should the Hornets take in the first round?
This is an amazing position the Hornets are in with the third pick. Really, you wait to see who the T-Wolves and Dubs take with 1-2 and then choose the best player available from LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards and Obi Toppin. Charlotte could also go a different route and add an athletic center in James Wiseman. I’d say Toppin is the best-case scenario for Charlotte though.
