Both fighters enter ranked #14, but Kim holds the position in the flyweight division, while Grasso does at strawweight, but is moving up to 125 lbs. here to meet her opponent.
Kim is 9-2-2 with a 3-2 record in the UFC. She hasn’t been in the octagon since October of 2019, a second-round KO win over Nadia Kassem. It’s the only fight she’s had in the promotion that hasn’t gone the distance, but she has five stoppages in her smaller promotion career. She’s a standup fighter that isn’t afraid to swing, with 4.49 strikes per minute and zero takedowns even attempted in UFC, and she lands with just 33% accuracy. She isn’t afraid to get hit either, as she takes 4.74 strikes as well.
Grasso is 11-3, and returns to the ring for the first time since September of last year, a majority draw loss to Carla Esparza. She’s 3-3 in the UFC without a stoppage, and has four KO’s in her career. She’s even more active than her opponent with a 5.25 strikes per minute rate, and just one takedown attempted in her six UFC bouts. At 5’5, she’s favored despite giving up two inches of height and six inches of reach to her opponent.
