UPDATE: Aug. 5, 5:31 p.m. — LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both listed as available to play on the 5:30 NBA injury report. So it doesn’t appear the Lakers have any plans of resting players at this point. Now, take that with a grain of salt, because we’ve seen coaches change their minds mid-game. Still, this is a good spot for Davis and LeBron in DFS with some leverage.
UPDATE: Aug. 5, 5:01 p.m. — Howard has been ruled out vs. the Thunder.
Los Angeles Lakers C Dwight Howard is being listed as questionable to play in Wednesday night’s game vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder. Howard is dealing with a sore knee that may hold him out for the No. 1 overall seed in the West. Here, we’ll be adding updates throughout the day for any notable lineup and injury news for Thunder-Lakers.
Fantasy basketball and betting impact
Dwight Howard — Through three games in the bubble, Howard has only posted over 20 DraftKings fantasy points once — the last game against the Jazz. He hasn’t eclipsed 17 minutes and it seems he really only gets run in garbage time. If Howard is out, there will still be an extra 10-12 minutes to allocate elsewhere. These minutes could go to JaVale McGee or Markieff Morris, both of whom are pried below $4K on DK.
This should move the needle much on the spread at -5.5 in favor of L.A. We don’t have any player props up on DKSB either, so there isn’t much here for now.
