Mavericks to UNLEASH THE BOBAN vs. Clippers

Is Boban Marjanovic the play that could set your lineup over the top?

UPDATE: The Mavs released their starting lineup and subsequently RELEASED THE BOBAN. It appears to be Boban O’Clock. Everybody Wang Boban tonight, baby! Okay, I’m done. This is Benjamin Zweiman, signing off.

The Dallas Mavericks will be without Seth Curry for a second straight game Thursday, as the guard will be held out against the Los Angeles Clippers because of a leg injury. Curry is expected to be replaced by Boban Marjanovic in the starting lineup, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes. This should be exciting for DFS players everywhere.

Where were you when Marjanovic made his last start? If you don’t remember, you might want to check his game long. The big man dropped 31 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in 31 minutes on March 11 before the NBA season was halted. He tallied 57.8 DKFP in that game and could put together another monster stat line against a Clippers team that’s undermanned in the post without Montrezl Harrell. Ivica Zubac and spot minutes from Joakim Noah might not be enough to contain a massive player like Marjanovic. Let’s go over what else could be affected by this lineup change.

Fantasy basketball impact

If Marjanovic starts, it’s safe to say that Kristaps Porzingis will move over to power forward. He’s an unorthodox matchup for tons of post players, but his mobility and 7’2” frame could hassle 6’9” Marcus Morris Sr. Marjanovic’s conditioning is a wild card though, so Dorian Finney-Smith could be a wild card capable of impacting the game off the bench. Dallas has been all over the place with its backcourt rotation, so it’s hard to project playing time for Trey Burke and Delon Wright. Marjanovic’s ownership will likely shoot up significantly given his $3,100 price in the main slate. Rostering him could make or break your lineup.
