UPDATE: Aug. 9, 10:15 a.m. — Not only have Gordon and MCW been ruled out, but the Magic are also ruling Evan Fournier out due to an illness.

Orlando Magic PF Aaron Gordon (hamstring) and PG Michael Carter-Williams (foot) are both being listed as questionable to play in Sunday’s game vs. the Boston Celtics. Gordon was held out of Friday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers after being injured earlier in the week. MCW has been sidelined all week due to the foot injury and the Magic have needed some help in the back court. Let’s take a look at the impact.

Fantasy basketball and betting impact

The Magic started Gary Clark at PF against the Sixers and things were going OK for a bout three quarters. The issue was Orlando couldn’t really score and Philly eventually woke up. If Gordon can get back into the lineup, that means Clark goes back to the bench and we don’t see as much of Clark and Khem Birch. James Ennis, Evan Fournier, Terrence Ross and Nikola Vucevic all take a slight usage hit with Gordon back as well. This is also a bad matchup against the Celtics.

As for the back court, MCW could return and get into the starting lineup in place of D.J. Augustin, who has struggled the past two games. Markelle Fultz hasn’t done much of anything in the bubble and Carter-Williams looked decent before going down with the injury.

Not much to go over for the betting side. I’d stay away from the game or just don’t bet the Magic, with or without Gordon and MCW.
