Full sports schedule for August 9th led by PGA Championship, Maple Leafs-Blue Jackets, more

Major sports are in full swing once again. We break down the complete schedule for Sunday, August 9th.

Sports is back in full swing, and the Covid-19 delays have resulted in more sports than normal at this point. Once football returns in September, the schedule will go from crazy to absolutely ridiculous.

Here’s a look at what today’s television schedule looks like for North American sports. The day is underway with the PGA Championship, and wraps up with the Nets and Clippers tipping off on NBA TV at 9p.m. We’ve separated out the baseball schedule because of the sheer volume of it.

Picture-in-picture and multiple televisions and computer screens can let the most die-hard of sports fans watch just about everything on this schedule, but you might need to pick and choose depending on your screen and/or work day limitations.

We’ve arrived at elimination time in the NBA and NHL bubbles. Ben Zweiman broke down Sunday’s NBA scenarios with some clinching and elimination in the mix. Meanwhile, the NHL qualifying round has one matchup that is in a winner-take-all Game 5 with the Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets squaring off at 8 p.m. That should be your evening game of choice.

The PGA Championship will be a fun watch, but you can hold off until this afternoon. The top 20 on the leaderboard don’t get going until 3 p.m. Given the nature of golf, you can flip around depending on how it all plays out.

There is plenty of action all day and into the evening, so feel free to bet at DraftKings Sportsbook or enter your DFS lineups. All times below are Eastern Time.
