The NASCAR Cup Series’ Federated Auto Parts 400 is set to run Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. It will take place at Richmond Raceway and will be aired on NBCS. We’ll go over the starting grid and betting favorites below.
NASCAR made changes to how qualifying in the three national series (Cup, Xfinity, Gander Outdoors Truck) in August. Three performance metrics will be utilized, with each one weighted a little different. It breaks down as follows.
- Finishing position from the previous race (weighted 50%)
- Ranking in team owner points standings (35%)
- Fastest lap from the previous race (15%)
This system will be used for the remaining regular season races and the playoffs.
Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. are favored to win at +400 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Harvick took the checkered flag at last week’s Cook Out Southern 500 and has momentum on his side, but Truex has won two of his last six races at Richmond. Denny Hamlin isn’t far behind at +450 and has five top five finishes at the track in his last six races there.
Here’s what the rest of the field looks like for Saturday’s race.
