Kenny Golladay misses Friday practice, listed as doubtful for Week 1

Lions WR Kenny Golladay’s status is officially “doubtful” as we close in on Week 1.

Official injury status: The Lions released their final injury report for Week 1, and Kenny Golladay is listed as Doubtful. That means he has a 25 percent of less chance of playing on Sunday.

Update 9/11: The news isn’t looking great for Kenny Golladay, as coach Matt Patricia says he will again miss practice on Friday due to his hamstring issue. Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson should get a boost. Plan on finding a fantasy replacement for Golladay.

The Detroit Lions No. 1 receiver, Kenny Golladay, suffered a hamstring injury in Wednesday’s practice. He was seen sitting out of individual drills on Thursday, per the Detroit Free Press’ Dave Birkett.

The extent of his injury is impossible to know, especially considering that Lions coach Matt Patricia takes after his mentor Bill Belichick when it comes to injury disclosures. We aren’t going to get any cooperation from Patricia when it comes to projecting whether Golladay will play. Even if he is 100 percent good to go, he will likely be listed as questionable. For Golladay, much will depend on what he’s able to do in Friday’s practice.

Fellow Lions receiver Danny Amendola is also listed on the injury report with a hamstring injury. If Golladay and Amendola are both less than 100 percent, Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson would get the biggest boost for fantasy. Quintez Cephus could also get some playing time, but I’d also expect to see more targets for D’Andre Swift if he is healthy.
