How and what to watch for Missouri State vs. Oklahoma

Oklahoma should have no issue beating Missouri State, but will the Sooners cover the spread?

NCAA Football: Big 12 Championship-Baylor vs Oklahoma Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Oklahoma Sooners are ready to bring in a new quarterback as they begin their season as heavy favorites over the Missouri State Bears on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Freshman Spencer Rattler will line up under center for Oklahoma after seeing limited action as the backup to Jalen Hurts last season. With years of evidence showing what Lincoln Riley can do for college quarterbacks, Rattler is set up for a fantastic freshman season. Oklahoma is looking to find itself in a position to return to the College Football Playoff once again.

As for Missouri State, the most noteworthy thing about the Bears is Bobby Petrino is going into his first season as their head coach. According to the schedule on the school’s official athletics website, Missouri State has three games on the schedule including Oklahoma and home-and-home matchups with Central Arkansas.

In its lone game against an FBS opponent in 2019, Missouri State was defeated 58-6 at Tulane.

Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming

Saturday’s game will begin at 7 p.m. ET at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. The game will be available via pay-per-view for $54.99.

  • Missouri State finished 1-10 straight up last season.

The Best Bet

Unless you’re the most diehard of diehard Oklahoma football fans, we’ll advise against making the $54.99 purchase to watch this game if you’re concerned about a winner. However, if you decide to bet this game, maybe it’s worth tuning in for. Okay, that’s still a fairly steep price for one blowout college football game. Will Oklahoma have what it takes to cover a seven-touchdown spread? Let’s keep in mind the Sooners scored 42 points or more eight times in 2019.

Pick: Oklahoma -42.5
