Inactive news: Phillip Dorsett has been announced as INACTIVE for Week 1.

The Seattle Seahawks have officially listed wide receiver Phillip Dorsett as questionable ahead of this week’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Dorsett is still dealing with a foot injury that’s been bothering him since last month. He missed practice on Friday, and head coach Pete Carroll told the media that the team would wait and see where Dorsett’s as game day gets closer.

If you’re wondering how it might play out this week, Carroll also pointed to the other names on the depth chart who could fill in for Dorsett and discussed being cautious with their approach.

A free agent acquisition who signed with Seattle after three seasons in New England, Carroll has praised Dorsett’s work in training camp this season. The foot injury plaguing him now is a long-standing problem for Dorsett, and one that the team did not know about before they signed him to be a speedy field-stretcher in three-receiver sets.

However, he’ll still be a third option, at best, behind Tyler Lockette and DK Metcalf in the passing game. When he’s healthy, he may break off a long touchdown or two this season, but he’s not someone you can count on regularly in fantasy football. Avoid him this week for sure.
