How to handle DeVante Parker, Preston Williams injury news in Week 1 fantasy football

The Dolphins will have both of their top two receivers against the Patriots this week, but should they be in your fantasy lineups?

The Miami Dolphins have enough of a hill to climb this season, so a pair of ailing wide receivers is less than ideal. However, concerns about the status for their top two receivers, DeVante Parker and Preston Williams, have passed. Both players are expected to play this week when they open the season against the New England Patriots.

Last year’s breakout surprise, Parker had been dealing with a hamstring injury that limited his work in practice this week. The question of whether or not he would play never really seemed to be in doubt though, as the team was just being careful.

Williams was limited in practice earlier in the week with a knee issue, but he was going full tilt at Friday’s practice, and is all set to play this week. The question now is whether nor not either receiver is a viable fantasy option in a tough road matchup against the Patriots.

Parker could have his hands full with cornerback Stephon Gilmore, which, in theory, could give Williams more room to work. Parker got blanked in the first game against the Patriots last year, but went off for 137 yards in Week 17. Williams only saw the Patriots once last season, because of injuries. He caught four passes for 63 yards in the same outing where Parker had nothing.

Williams might be the best bet in DFS leagues; he’s just $4,500 in DraftKings leagues. Parker can probably be left on the bench, just given the matchup.
