It’s the first week of the season, and the official injury report, thankfully, is a light one. There are a few names, however, whose situations you’ll need to be aware for fantasy football of as we head into the first Sunday of the year.
Among the running backs, one notable name for fantasy purposes is David Montgomery from the Bears. He is expected to play against the Lions this week, but to what extent is still an unknown. Tarik Cohen could get a little more work in the running game if Montgomery is at all limited. The Eagles will be without Miles Sanders this Sunday too, a late change the team made on Saturday afternoon.
The wide receiver list is a little longer, and the biggest name here is Mike Evans of the Buccaneers. His chances of playing were not looking good on Friday, but the team upgraded his status to questionable, a good sign that he’ll play this week against the Saints. The 49ers will be a little thin at the position against the Cardinals with Deebo Samuel out and Brandon Aiyuk questionable. The Patriots are expected to have N’Keal Harry in uniform this week too. He is listed as questionable, but was a full go in practice this week.
As always, be sure to make one last check on players’ injury status Sunday morning and adjust accordingly.
