The NASCAR Cup Series will head to Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend. The Bass Pro Shops Night Race is set for Saturday and will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET. The race will be be aired on NBCSN. We’ll go over the betting favorites and starting grid here.

NASCAR made changes to how qualifying in the three national series (Cup, Xfinity, Gander Outdoors Truck) in August. Three performance metrics will be utilized, with each one weighted a little different. It breaks down as follows.

  • Finishing position from the previous race (weighted 50%)
  • Ranking in team owner points standings (35%)
  • Fastest lap from the previous race (15%)

Denny Hamlin has finished outside the top 10 in three of his last four races, but is favored to win on DraftKings Sportsbook at +450. He’s trailed by winless Kyle Busch (+600), who is easily the most accomplished driver at Bristol in recent years. Busch has won three of his last seven races at the track and has notched five top five finishes there since February of 2017. He leads the field with eight career Cup Series wins at Bristol. Kevin Harvick and Federated Auto Parts 400 winner Brad Keselowski are even with Busch at +600.

Here’s what the starting grid looks like for Saturday’s race.
