D/ST rankings for Week 2 fantasy football

We take you through some of the best D/STs going in Week 2 for fantasy football, including a few viable streamers.

Larry Foote #50 and defensive linemen Brett Keisel #99, Ziggy Hood #96 and Casey Hampton #98 of the Pittsburgh Steelers look on from the field during a game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Heinz Field on November 12, 2012 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In Week 1, your Top 7 fantasy D/STs were the Saints, Washington, Ravens, Patriots and Chargers, Steelers, and Bills. These are the only teams to top 10 fantasy points while the Saints were the only team to score a defensive touchdown.

Probably the biggest surprise was Washington sacking Carson Wentz eight times and got a hand on him 15 times! We knew the addition of Chase Young to an already good defensive line would be a big plus, but that’s pretty crazy. The Eagles were down three starting linemen, but still.

We’re still trying to see how these 2020 defenses will become. Week 1 gave us some idea, but we’ll need more data to give us a truer look. From these initial results, the Dolphins, Washington, Eagles, Texans, Giants, Bengals, Browns, and Jets are teams worth targeting your D/ST against.

But there are a few defenses you’ll want to start against all but the truly elite offenses. The Steelers look to be one of those, after holding Saquon Barkley to five yards on 15 carries on Monday Night Football. They also sacked Daniel Jones three times, intercepted him twice and got a hit on him eight times. And Jones actually looked okay under all that pressure.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Panthers

I don’t love targeting the Panthers, but I do like the Buccaneers defense enough to use them against middling to bad teams. I expect the Bucs offense will get on track this week and put the Panthers in a hole that will give the Bucs defensive line plenty of snaps to go after Teddy Bridgewater with abandon.
