Game day morning update: Jarvis Landry is expected to play on Thursday, according to reporter Tom Pelissero. He’s worth a start.
The Cleveland Browns host the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football to open Week 2, and they might be shorthanded at wide receiver. Jarvis Landry was recovering from offseason hip surgery heading into training camp and came off the PUP list in August. The team sat him out of practice on Tuesday and he returned in limited fashion on Wednesday. He is listed as questionable for the game.
Landry led the Browns with five receptions for 61 yards in Week 1. Odell Beckham Jr. caught three passes for 22 yards alongside Landry in a game that Baltimore put away in short order in the second quarter.
There was some chatter Landry was feeling sore, but it’s also a short week turnaround for the Browns. He seems a good bet to play, but we’ll see when inactives come out Thursday evening at 6:50 p.m. ET. He’s a solid start if he plays against a shaky Bengals defense.
