There were a couple key injuries at the running back position in Week 1, and that could affect DFS value in Week 2. DraftKings hasn’t adjusted the prices to account for some players being promoted to a feature back role, and it’s important to take advantage of that. We’ll go over some of the best running back plays available for under $6,000 at DraftKings.
Jonathan Taylor ($5,700), Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings
Taylor didn’t have an amazing performance in Week 1, but I can’t help but put him back at the top of this list after Marlon Mack suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 1. Taylor tallied 14.9 DKFP on nine carries for 22 yards and six receptions for 67 yards. he’ll only be more involved in Week 2 with less competition in the backfield and could get closer to 20 DKFP. Nyheim Hines doesn’t have Taylor’s power running, so expect Taylor to have the best shot at being a touchdown vulture at the goal line.
Ronald Jones II ($5,200), Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers
Jones racked accrued 66 rushing yards on 17 carries in Week 1 and appears to be Tampa Bay’s full-time feature back despite the addition of Leonard Fournette, who tallied five rushing yards on five carries against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Carolina is off to a slow start defending the run without Luke Kuechly, as Josh Jacobs totaled three rushing touchdowns against the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.
Benny Snell Jr. ($4,500), Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Denver Broncos
Snell will be one of the more popular value plays in Week 2. James Conner suffered an ankle injury in Week 1 and forfeited a ton of carries to Snell in Week 1. Snell tallied 113 rushing yards on 19 carries. Jaylen Samuels is more of a passing down back while Anthony McFarland Jr. is unlikely to get much work after not getting a single touch his pro debut. Snell’s value will be linked to Conner’s availability.
