Two 145 lbs. fighters battle on the preliminary card at UFC Vegas 11 when Darrick Minner takes on T.J. Laramie Saturday night live from the Apex facility and on ESPN+.
Minner is 24-11 in his career with an astonishing 21 finishes, but is 0-1 in a UFC cage after falling to Grant Dawson in the second round on February 29th of this year. He has fought at 155 lbs. in his career, and before tapping out by rear-naked choke to Dawson he landed one takedown and two submission attempts alongside four significant strikes. The 30-year-old has a 69” reach, three more than his opponent.
“The Truth” Laramie is from Windsor, Ontario, and is 12-3 in his MMA career. He won this opportunity via a doctor’s stoppage of Daniel Swain at Dana White’s Contender Series just five weeks ago. He has seven KO/TKO’s and three submissions on his resume, and the 22-year-old fights out of the Maximum Training Center. He actually started his career in the Pancrase promotion at just 17-years-old
Here are the betting splits at DraftKings Sportsbook for Darrick Minner vs. TJ Laramie at UFC Vegas 11 on September 19th:
Darrick Minner: +245 (14% of action, 21% of bets)
TJ Laramie: -335 (86% of action, 79% of bets)
DraftKings DFS Salaries
Darrick Minner: $7,000
TJ Laramie: $9,200
This is a big price to pay for a fighter making his main UFC debut, no matter how impressive he was at DWCS or on the indies. We’ll mix in some Minner on our rosters to save salary space for some bigger favorites elsewhere. One tap-out in the cage shouldn’t make an MMA professional this big an underdog.
