Matthew Stafford didn’t have Kenny Golladay available for the Detroit Lions’ season opener against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but still had a very productive day throwing the football. Can he keep things going against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2? We’ll go over his fantasy football upside here.
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions QB Matthew Stafford
Stafford totaled 297 passing yards on 24-of-42 passing in Week 1. He wasn’t very efficient without his WR1 and threw for one score with one interception. The Packers forked up 249 passing yards to Kirk Cousins on 25 throws on Sunday, so Stafford should have a good shot at surpassing that mark. Detroit is hopeful that Golladay will be back for Week 2, but things don’t look very good at the moment. The hope here is that Stafford can have a similar game to Kirk Cousins in comeback mode.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Stafford in season-long fantasy and DFS. The emergence of T.J. Hockenson could make the Lions’ passing attack even more lethal than it was in 2019.
