What to do with Mitchell Trubisky in Week 2 fantasy football

Mitch Trubisky erupted in the fourth quarter in Week 1, should we expect this from him moving forward?

NFL: Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Mitchell Trubisky lived up (or down) to everyone’s average expectations through the first three quarters of Week 1. Then, he flipped the switch and led the Chicago Bears to a comeback victory over the Detroit Lions in an explosive 21-point fourth quarter. All three touchdowns came from the arm of Trubisky, but can we expect this type of production on a regular basis? Let’s break it down.

Fantasy Football analysis: Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky

Trubisky targeted his top option, Allen Robinson II (nine targets), more than anyone else, though his three passing scores fell to Anthony Miller, Javon Wims, and Jimmy Graham. The young QB ended his day with 242 passing yards and 26 rushing yards for the eighth-best fantasy score at the position on the week. He’ll have another pass-friendly matchup as the Bears take on the Giants in Week 2. This could potentially turn into a turnover-prone shootout, so we may see another surprising Trubisky stat line. And after the drama with A-Rob this week, the WR1 has fallen back in line and will take the field once again for Chicago, which certainly boosts Mitch’s appeal.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Trubisky remains untrustworthy, and until we see consistency, which we likely won’t, you should sit him.
