The Denver Nuggets were close to evening the Western Conference Finals vs. the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night. Anthony Davis had other plans. The Los Angeles Lakers PF drained a game-winning 3-pointer to sink the Nuggets and give the Lakers a 2-0 lead in the conference finals. Check out the shot here:

The Nuggets looked like they were about to tie the series 1-1. Denver really had to win this game after getting destroyed in Game 1 of the series. Davis hadn’t had a memorable moment in the playoffs and this will be a shot everyone remembers for a while. Davis showed he has the clutch gene and hit a massive shot to give the Lakers a huge edge in the WCF.
Davis finished with 31 points and 9 rebounds in the win. LeBron James had 26 points and 11 boards, while carrying the Lakers to a huge win in Game 2. Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic combined for 55 points in the loss. Denver has faced adversity in the playoffs before, having come back down 3-1 in back-to-back series. This is a different situation down 2-0 to the Lakers, who likely won’t let the Nuggets get back in the series.
The saving grace is for bettors who laid the points on the Nuggets, who were +7.5 heading into Game 2. We also saw the under come through after the 105-103 finish. It was a much more fast-paced in Game 1 in which the two teams blew past the over/under. At this point it will be surprising to see the Nuggets come back in the series but they’ve done it before. This was a game they had a shot to win and a superstar showed up and made a huge shot. You can’t be too upset over that.
