The NFL closes out Week 2 tonight with the Las Vegas Raiders hosting the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. The Raiders are opening their brand new stadium in Las Vegas, and the NFL is going above and beyond to promote the big opening.
Monday’s game airs on ESPN like the rest of the MNF schedule, but this week, we’ll get something that hasn’t happened in 15 years. The game date marks the 50th anniversary of MNF’s debut, and so the game will be simulcast on ABC. That means even if you don’t have cable, you’ll be able to watch the game tonight. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET.
It’s the only such game all season, but it should be a fun one. Both teams are 1-0 and this game is a big test. The Raiders beat a bad Panthers team in Week 1 and will look to show they’re legit. The Saints beat the Bucs, but also lost star wide receiver Michael Thomas to a high ankle sprain in that game and will not have him tonight. It will be interesting to see how Drew Brees spreads the ball around without Thomas.
