Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders is the new head coach of the Jackson State Tigers, and he is bringing together quite the name-brand coaching staff. According to sports reporter Joe Cook, the staff will include former NFL players Terrell Owens, Warren Sapp, Dennis Thurman, Mario Edwards, and Jason Phillips.
BREAKING: According to sources Deion Sanders coaching will be

Jason Phillips-Off. Coordinator
Terrell Owens WR Coach
Warren Sapp Def. Line Coach
Dennis Thurman-Def. Coordinator
Mario Edwards Sr-Defensive Backs Coach
JSU holdovers TC Taylor and Otis Ridley also on staff
From that group, Phillips and Thurman have the most extensive experience, which makes sense in their coordinator roles. Edwards has some high school coaching experience, while Owens and Sapp have no formal coaching experience but have worked with younger players at times since retiring.
Phillips was most recently the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at Utah State. He’s coached wide receivers and/or passing games dating back to 1999. Thurman started coaching in 1988, primarily as a defensive backs coach but also as a defensive coordinator for the Jets and Bills in recent years.
The Tigers may or may not win some games under Coach Deion, but they’ll at least have some fascinating sound bites.
