The Jacksonville Jaguars host the Miami Dolphins to open Week 3 on Thursday Night Football, and the Florida rivalry is growing heated. While this might seem like a low key matchup that won’t be worth watching, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew are ratcheting up the rhetoric.
OK, maybe not quite.
On Tuesday, Fitzpatrick had a chance to discuss his beard vs. Minshew’s mustache, and the Dolphins QB had some fun with it. He thinks the beard is better, but also knows his wife doesn’t really appreciate either.

Later in the afternoon, Minshew was asked about Fitzpatrick’s comments and the Jaguars QB fired shots at Fitzpatrick’s age in his response.
"I'm going to have respect for my elders -- especially when they're much, much elder..."

-- @GardnerMinshew5 tongue-in-cheek declining to "defend" his mustache after Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick said earlier today that beards were cooler than mustaches...
As a beard man myself, I have to stand with Fitzpatrick on this one. It’s a better look, but I know that not everybody has the facial hair growth to pull it off. If it’s going to be patchy, you’re better just not trying.
This Thursday’s game could be an underappreciated one for the football aesthetics, although I personally think it could turn out better than expected. But regardless, it’s good to see Fitzpatrick and Minshew cutting some promos to boost the hype a little bit for the game. We’ll see if we get a response from Fitzpatrick over Minshew’s age crack.
