Friday update: The Rams ruled Cam Akers out for Week 3 vs. the Bills, per Stu Jackson. Malcolm Brown was removed from the final injury report after being listed to start the week.
Thursday update: Malcolm Brown will return to practice on Thursday, but Cam Akers will not, per AP’s Greg Beachum. Coach Sean McVay also said that Akers is “making progress, maybe a little bit slower than I expected.” That doesn’t sound great for his availability against the Bills this Sunday. Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown are one day closer to handling the load for Week 4.
Wednesday update: Coach Sean McVay says that neither Malcolm Brown or Cam Akers will practice on Wednesday, per Sports Illustrated’s Eric Williams. Initial reports had Brown’s injury as something he can play through, while Akers’ ribs injury as something that might keep him out of Sunday’s game against the Bills. We’ll keep you posted.
On Sunday against the Eagles, rookie running back Cam Akers suffered an injury that took him out of the game. The injury was to his ribs, as he separated rib cartilage, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Schefter reports that the running back is day-to-day and uncertain to play on Sunday versus the Buffalo Bills.
Malcolm Brown also was injured on Sunday, but it appears his fractured pinky will allow him to play this weekend.

Rams’ RB Malcolm Brown fractured his left pinky in the same game and underwent surgery Monday to repair it.
Rams expect Brown to play Sunday at Buffalo, but are uncertain about Akers, who is now day to day.
If Akers can’t go on Sunday, that leaves more room for Darrell Henderson to see work, as he did well against the Eagles. He rushed 12 times for 81 yards and a touchdown, adding two receptions for 40 more yards. He would split time with Brown, but there is a chance he sees more work after his strong Week 2.
