The final fight on the prelim card, Brad Riddell will take the octagon with Alex Da Silva in a lightweight bout that will be part of UFC 253 live on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi and on pay-per-view.

Riddell will enter the fight with a 8-1 record. The 5-foot-7 orthodox-stance fighter has just two UFC fights to his name, both decision victories. They’ve been impressive wins for Riddell who has shown an aptitude at both grappling and striking.

Against Jamie Mullarkey, Riddell threw 50 more significant strikes. More recently he has to shown some grappling prowess as Magomed Mustafaev absorbed eight takedowns from Riddell in a late-February brawl. He averages 4.3 strikes per minute with a 57 percent striking accuracy. He does also take 2.13 per minute with a 54 percent defense accuracy, but it’s clear that’s his strength with just two takedowns in his first two matches.

The 28-year-old will square up against the 24-year-old Da Silva. With a 21-2 record in his MMA career, Da Silva has split his two UFC fights, with under 25 minutes in the octagon at the UFC level.

His clear strength is as a grappler, averaging 2.59 takedowns per 15 minutes with a 57 percent takedown accuracy. With just 1.08 strikes per minutes on 43 percent accuracy, Da Silva will want this fight on the ground.

This will be a huge fight for Da Silva who hasn’t taken to the octagon in over a year. Both of Riddell’s fights have come since Da Silva fought last, so cage rust might be a factor.

Here are the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Brad Riddell vs. Alex Da Silva at UFC 253 on September 26th.
