Week 2 brought us some huge fantasy games from quarterbacks and this week looks good for some more. The biggest matchup of the week comes on Monday night when Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson lead their respective teams against each other. That game will top off what should be another fun weekend of footballing.
Injury news
Jimmy Garoppolo has an ankle injury and is likely to sit in Week 3. Nick Mullens would get the start if Garoppolo can’t go.
Tyrod Taylor is out indefinitely after having his lungs punctured by the team doctor. Justin Herbert will take over against the Panthers and has some streaming value.
Drew Lock is out at least two weeks, maybe more, with a rotator cuff strain. Jeff Driskel will get the start this week, while Blake Bortles could see work if Driskel has trouble.
Streaming QBs
Gardner Minshew, Jaguars
Minshew plays on Thursday night against the Dolphins, who will be without Byron Jones and just gave up a billion fantasy points to Josh Allen. D.J. Chark is questionable, but the Jaguars are deep at wide receiver and even if Chark can’t go, I like his chances for a useful fantasy night.
Joe Burrow, Bengals
I’m having trouble ranking the quarterbacks from 12 to 22 and like a lot of them as possibilities in good matchups this week. Burrow takes on an Eagles pass defense that ranks 27th in DVOA after Jared Goff torched them at home last week for three touchdowns, a 74 percent completion rate and 9.9 yards per attempt.
