Over bettor just barely gets the points in 31-13 Dolphins victory

Ryan Fitzpatrick impressed as the Dolphins got their first win of the season. An over bettor is thankful for it.

The Miami Dolphins came up short in their first two games of the season, but on Thursday Night Football to open Week 3, they impressed in getting their first win. The Dolphins beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-13 thanks to an impressive performance from Ryan Fitzpatrick. There’s plenty to take away, but let’s give this sports bettor a high five!

The over bettor was looking at a potentially ugly bad beat. The Dolphins jumped on top early and cruised to victory. For much of the second half, Gardner Minshew struggled and it looked like the Jags weren’t going to get enough points. They trailed 28-7 and scored a touchdown that gave them a chance to get back into it. And then, the Jags kicker missed an extra point and it was 28-13. Fortunately for the Jersey bettor, a Jags turnover on downs set up an eventual Dolphins field goal and the over near the end of the game.

Betting aside, Ryan Fitzpatrick impressed throughout. He completed his first 11 passes and finished the game 18 of 20 for 160 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 39 rushing yards and a touchdown, nearly leading the team on the ground. The Jaguars could do nothing to stop Fitzmagic and the Dolphins got in the win column.

The 1-2 Dolphins host the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4, while the 1-2 Jaguars travel to face the Cincinnati Bengals.
