Report: Patriots center David Andrews likely out Week 3

New England Patriots center David Andrews suffered a broken thumb on his snapping hand last week and is unlikely to play this week, per FOX Sports Jay Glazer. His absence is concerning for Cam Newton and the Patriots offense, especially with Newton running so many RPO’s.

Newton and the Patriots do get a fairly good matchup against a weak Raiders defense, but there will likely be a learning curve that could slow Newton’s effectiveness down somewhat. Newton has been extremely effective so far this season, especially as a runner near the goal-line, as he has four rushing touchdowns through two games.
