No Michael Thomas?
Forty-one year old Drew Brees?
Enter the hero to save the day: Alvin Kamara.
With the New Orleans Saints operating at less than full strength, the Sean Payton and the New Orleans coaching staff will have to be creative to keep the Saints competitive against the Green Bay Packers. Instead of relying on the golden arm of Drew Brees, this game will likely turn on the legs of Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray.
Fantasy Football analysis: Saints RBs Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray
After playing most of the 2019 season through various injuries, Kamara proclaimed himself healthy before the start of the 2020 season, and it has appeared to be the case thus far.
Alvin Kamara has scored two touchdowns in each of the first two games of the 2020 season, and if the Saints want to keep pace with the Packers, it will likely require Kamara finding the endzone at least once more Sunday night.
When Sean Payton has a player the caliber of Alvin Kamara on the roster, it’s hard to find plays for Latavius Murray. But Murray has shown to be more than capable when called upon in New Orleans, setting his highest yards per carry total since his rookie year in Oakland. But the Saints don’t have the luxury of hoping Murray can be productive Sunday night, instead requiring the most out of their best players - meaning Alvin Kamara will need to shine under the Sunday night lights. It won’t be easy against a Packers defense, offering up only the 11th-most points to opposing running backs in 2020.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Kamara as an RB1. Bench Murray.
