The Miami Heat are heading to the 2020 NBA Finals after upsetting the higher seed in every round. The Heat downed the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday by a score of 125-113 to advance. They’ll face the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals after LeBron James and Co. got the job done against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night.

Bam Adebayo had arguably the best game of his young career, scoring 32 points with 14 rebounds and 5 assists to make sure the Celtics didn’t force a Game 5. The Heat had been underdogs for most of the playoffs. They started as the No. 5 seed and beat the No. 4 seed Indiana Pacers, the No. 1 seeded Milwaukee Bucks and then the No. 3 seeded Boston Celtics to advance to the Finals.

The Heat were underdogs for most of the series but ended up taking down the Celtics without a Game 7. Miami had hot shooting in Game 6 that resulted in the lopsided win. The Heat shot almost shot 50% from downtown while the Celtics just couldn’t keep up. Boston had been known as a tough defensive team but that wasn’t the case in the game on Sunday.

Looking ahead to the NBA Finals, the Heat will face LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the final round. The Lakers will likely be heavily favored as they have throughout the bubble round. There’s a little bit of a narrative with LeBron having played for the Heat. The last time Miami was in the NBA Finals was in 2014 with LeBron James on the team when they lost to the San Antonio Spurs.
