UPDATE: Goedert is going on I.R., per The Athletic’s Zach Berman. He could return Week 7, but until then, Greg Ward, Zach Ertz, Miles Sanders and Alshon Jeffery are likely to see plenty of targets
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert has an ankle fracture that will keep him out a “at least a couple weeks,” per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The injury won’t require surgery, but Goedert is a key component to the Eagles’ 12 personnel offense. Coach Doug Pederson will need to switch up the offense while also working to get Carson Wentz back on track.
Goedert’s absence appeared to help Greg Ward out the most last week, as his workload went up and he caught 8-of-11 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. Alshon Jeffery is also set to return soon, as he was able to practice last week. They’ll need all hands on deck with Jalen Reagor and Goedert both out.
