7th inning update: Well, that was quick. Giolito gave up a single to open the 7th inning.

The Chicago White Sox traveled to face the Oakland Athletics in the Wild Card round of the 2020 MLB Playoffs, and they’re off to a slightly impressive start. The White Sox lead the A’s 3-0 in Game 1, but more importantly, Chicago starter Lucas Giolito has not given up a single base runner in the game. He is perfect through six innings, having thrown 73 pitches and struck out six A’s batters.

Jesus Luzardo got the start for the A’s and lasted 3.1 innings. He gave up three runs on six hits while striking out five. He gave up a pair of home runs, one to Adam Engel and one to Jose Abreu. J.B. Wendelken replaced Luzardo and threw 2.2 innings of one-hit ball. Yusmeiro Petit followed in the top of the seventh and worked around one hit.

The A’s half of the seventh inning brings the top of the order with Tommy La Stella, Robbie Grossman, and Marcus Semien due up.
