Friday update: The Seahawks have ruled Cam Akers out for Week 4 against the Giants.

Thursday update: Cam Akers was unable to practice on Thursday and coach Sean McVay said he “would be surprised if he plays” against the Bills, per Kevin Modesti of Daily News. His absence will concentrate work for Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown, with Henderson getting the lead role again.

The Los Angeles Rams won’t have rookie running back Cam Akers back at practice to start Week 4, but he is considered day-to-day, giving him an opening to practice and play this week, per ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry.

Akers suffered separated cartilage in his ribs two weeks ago against the Eagles and then was unable to play last week against the Bills. In his stead, Darrell Henderson stepped up with two strong games and has taken the lead in the starting running back battle and should start against the Giants even if Akers ends up suiting up for Week 4.
