The 2020 MLB Playoffs are underway, and the best-of-three Wild Card round is already starting to wrap up for some teams. The league expanded from a 10-team playoff to a 16-team playoff for this year’s postseason, and turned the Wild Card round from a one-game playoff to a three-game playoff.

The Wild Card round took place at the home site of the higher seed. The LDS, LCS, and World Series will each take place at neutral sites. For the ALDS, one series will take place in San Diego and the other will take place in Los Angeles. For the NLDS, one series will take place in Houston and the other will take place in Arlington.

The Astros are the first team to clinch their way into the ALDS. They swept the Twins in two games, beating them 3-1 in Game 2. The Twins struggled to get much of anything going on offense, and in a three-game series, things can get ugly in a hurry. The Astros await the winner of the Athletics and White Sox. Chicago took Game 1 while Oakland has a lead in Game 2.

UPDATE: The Rays thumped the Blue Jays 8-2 in Game 2 to complete the two-game sweep in the Wild Card round. They will face the winner of the Indians-Yankees series. New York leads the series 1-0.

UPDATE: The Yankees beat the Indians 10-9 in Game 2 to complete the two-game sweep in the Wild Card round. They advance to face the Rays in the ALDS.

UPDATE: The Braves shut out the Reds a second straight day and swept their Wild Card series. Atlanta will face the winner of the Cubs-Marlins series. Chicago leads 1-0 and Game 2 was postponed from Thursday to Friday due to weather.

UPDATE: The A’s beat the White Sox 6-4 in Game 3 to win the Wild Card round series. Oakland advances to face the Astros in the ALDS.

UPDATE: The Dodgers beat the Brewers 3-0 to sweep their Wild Card round series. LA advances to face the winner of the Padres-Cardinals series. They are tied 1-1.

UPDATE: The Marlins beat the Cubs 2-0 to sweep their Wild Card round series. Miami advances to face the Braves in the NLDS.

UPDATE: The Padres beat the Cardinals 4-0 to win their Wild Card round series 2-1. San Diego advances to face the Dodgers in the NLDS.
