UPDATE: The morning after the Bucks went down 3-0 to the Heat, Milwaukee is now +3000 to win the NBA championship on DraftKings Sportsbook. Oh how the mighty hath fallen. One the favorite to win it all, now the second-worst odds to win it all behind the Denver Nuggets +10000.
Unless the Milwaukee Bucks make history, they’re about to go home in the second round to the Miami Heat. The top overall seed. Milwaukee Bucks. On the brink of elimination? What is this NBA bubble you speak of? Such a glorious place for basketball. The Heat are stunning the Bucks right now. They just had one of the best fourth quarters I’ve seen in the playoffs to go on a run to cap a 115-100 win over Milwaukee. Dominant again. It’s like that Paul Rudd meme but in basketball form.
The Heat outscored the Bucks 40-13 in the fourth quarter. 40-13! The shooting got hot and the defense ramped up the intensity like we’ve seen all season. Now, the Bucks are historical pretty much eliminated. Miami set a franchise record with 18 three-pointers. Nobody in the modern era has come back down 0-3 in a best-of-7 series. No one.
The Bucks title odds were +300 before the season restart were as good as +250 for most of the regular season. We don’t have live odds for the Eastern Conference or NBA Finals as of yet, but we’ll keep at eye on when the lines are released. With the Bucks out of the picture, things open up a lot more. The Lakers and Clippers will likely get a big boost with seemingly their toughest competition eliminated.
