College Football Betting Lines for Week 2

It’s still not a full slate, but there some very compelling action available in Week 2 of whatever the 2020 season is.

Week 2 of the college football season is here, and the ACC and Big 12 join the party for the first time as there are both conference and non-conference tilts to start the 2020 season.

The Miami Hurricanes host the UAB Blazers to open the season at Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday night. The ‘Canes bring in graduate transfer quarterback and Heisman candidate D’Eriq King, fired offensive coordinator Dan Enos and replaced him with Rhett Lashlee, and have done everything possible to get an offense that has been in the muck for several seasons humming again.

UAB got by FCS’s Central Arkansas 45-35 a week ago, however they didn’t look great in the process. They rushed the ball 49 times for 233 yards, but also turned it over three times and averaged just 5.5 yards per play. With some tackling issues piled on, they’ll need to get those fixed to get within range in Miami Gardens.

The first full-ACC game is the Syracuse Orange and the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. The Orange were picked 14th out of 15 in the preseason poll, and Dino Babers will be fighting to keep things on track in Upstate New York.

Meanwhile the Tar Heels are the darlings of the preseason. The Heels are +800, third-favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook to be the ACC Champions. In a league where Clemson is a massive favorite at -455, that’s very strong. Sam Howell is back at quarterback, and the buzz coming out of the Triangle points towards what could be the best UNC season since... head coach Mack Brown’s first season.

Finally the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will play their first conference game in history against the Duke Blue Devils in South Bend on Saturday. Duke is projected to finish 12th in the ACC, but head coach David Cutcliffe always presents a tough matchup for teams unfamiliar with how they play. Ian Book returns at QB for the Irish, and two voters in the ACC poll picked ND to win the league in their first appearance. Will league play be so fun for the Irish that they consider joining the league where the rest of their sports compete? We’ll find out at the end of 2020.

Here are the odds for Week 2 of the 2020 college football season:
